Christmas in Gainesville

We were so thrilled to spend a little time with Aunt Julie during the Christmas break.
Luke now owns an official baseball uniform...which he never wants to take off!

It's a .....

...well not a "Neva". According to the sonographers we are having another boy!! Let me tell you how excited Luke is!! Are you kidding? He is going to have a baseball player to play with in his own home! We just have to continue to let him know that it may be a little while before the baby is able to play with him! I am about 24 weeks / 6 months pregnant...and yes...I have a little belly. It's so funny how different it is the 2nd time around! I feel much more aware of what we have to look forward to...and we don't look forward to! Now all we have to do is come up with a boy name!!

Christmas in Virginia

The Rotunda is a building located on the grounds of the University of Virginia. It was designed by Thomas Jefferson to represent the "authority of nature and power of reason" and was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. Construction began in 1822 and was completed in 1826, after his death. The grounds of the new university were unique in that they surrounded a library housed in the Rotunda rather than a church, as was common at other universities in the English-speaking world. The Rotunda is seen as a lasting symbol of Jefferson's belief in the separation of church and education, as well as his lifelong dedication to both education and architecture.

Kevin attended UVA for his undergraduate degree...he was a great tour guide.
The picture above is referred to "The Lawn" it is where professors and students reside on campus, and also where the graduation ceremonies are held.

In contemporary Christianity there is an essential difference between belief and faith. Our religious beliefs are the visible expression of our faith, our personal commitment to the person of Jesus. However, if the Christian beliefs inherited from our family and passed on to us by our church tradition are not grounded in a shattering, life-changing experience of Jesus as the Christ, then the chasm between our credal statements and our faith-experience widens and our witness is worthless. The gospel will persuade no one unless it has so convicted us that we are transformed by it - B. Manning

My flesh is weak but my spirit is willing. Jesus thinks I'm beautiful. Knowing Him is eternal life for me. When I die, all I have to take is love.
